Internship Hunting

Looking for an internship has been a large aspect of my junior year in college. I have been to multiple career fairs and have found competition to be extremely intense. With class and studies going on it has been difficult to set time aside to apply for as many internships as I would have liked to. There are hundreds of applicants applying for only a few positions. How can I stand out from the crowd and prove I have something special to offer that my competition does not?

Umpire

I have been umpiring baseball since spring 2004. Since then I have become a licensed official for the Illinois High School Association and have umpired numerous games and tournaments. Umpiring is a great leadership opportunity because I am in charge of all ruling on the field and making sure the game is being played fairly. Just recently I was hired by the University's Campus Recreation to umpire intramural softball.

Future Aspirations

Upon graduation in December 2007 with a degree in advertising and minor in business, I would like to work for an advertising agency in the account management department. I believe this position is most suitable to my interests and educational background. As for where I work, I do not mind relocating from the Chicago area. Gaining hands on experience is an agency is my number one priority.
I have been elected a member of and recognized by Alpha Delta Sigma Honor Society of the American Advertising Federation for superior scholastic performance as a student of advertising.
